Today the Hypergrid Adventurers Club visited a project which shows a really inspired use of a Virtual World. Fenêtre sur Chambre, which in my bad french translates to “Window on to Bedroom” is a project involving young patients in hospital who are staying in sterile isolation rooms. These children are interconnected using a virtual world and collectively they are going to create an interactive installation for a public space in the hospital – the Hôpital Trousseau, Paris. The project makes use of a sim on Francogrid to enable the children to break their isolation and at the same time enliven and enrich the walls of the hospital.
It is an interesting build – lots of bright colours and cool objects; really impressive stuff. We had the chance to talk to Hello Kitty – I felt a bit embarrassed by my really poor French; I really should practice a bit.
